Relief sought

ITANAGAR, Jan 21: The Leporiang People Welfare Committee Capital Complex sought the relief for fire victim which reportedly occurred on Sunday at Sangri Village under Doimukh around 7.45 pm. It said that during the fire mishap dwelling house of one Nabam Koma was totally damaged and all the belonging were gutted down.

Former MLAs join BJP

ITANAGAR, Jan 21: Former cabinet minister Naresh Glow joined Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of BJP National President Rajnath Singh, National General Secretary Tapir Gao, State President Tai Tagak and other senior leaders at New Delhi. Former MLA Nani Ribia also rejoined the BJP, said state BJP spokesperson Techi Necha in a release today.

Ribia has fought four times in the State Assembly Elections. In 1989 Assembly Election he had contested as BJP candidate from 17th Ziro Hapoli Assembly Constituency and lost in narrow margin. He is also having the experience of working as Political Secretary to CM during the year 1995 to 1998, the party release said.

Rumgong AYC conducts educational tour to Payum circle

ITANAGAR, Jan 21: The Rumgong Assembly Youth Congress in collaboration with the education department of West Siang district conducted an education tour to Payum circle from January 13 to 21.

The team members including Tadang Mibang, BEO Kaying/Payum, Takeng Payang, CRC, Kaying/Payum, Tatung Mibang, CRC Rumgong and Tabir Ketang CRC Pessing circle headed by AYC president Tarut Pari visited all the schools of Paryum circle and took stock of the school management. The team found that all the schools and teachers quarters need immediate maintenance. However, the BEO and his team assured the villagers to take up the matter with concerned department and state Govt for improve the condition of schools at Payum circle. Payum circle, which is about 130 kms away from Aalo is one of the least developed circle in the state. Pari requested the visiting educational officers to look into the matter urgently.

Death of former Speaker mourned

ITANAGAR, Jan 21: The officers and officials of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), State Office here has condoled the untimely death of Padi Yubee, Former Member cum Chairman, North-East Zone, Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC).

In a condolence message, state KVIC director in-charge A. P. Chobin said “he was an extraordinary, simple and soft-spoken man. He had made an outstanding contribution for the KVIC and dedicated himself to promote the values and principles of the KVIC, Itanagar. With his initiative and support, the State Office, KVIC has been upgraded to the Directorate level.”

The staff of the KVIC observed one minute silence as a mark of respect for late Yubee at its office premises here yesterday.

The KVIC family conveyed deep sense of condolence to bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty Lord to give his family courage, strength and support. May the departed soul be in peace!

The Sammonoy Gut Cooperative Society Ltd. Naharlagun, also mourned the untimely demise of renowned former legislator and Speaker Padi Yubee.

ECI DG visits Kurung Kumey

ITANAGAR, Jan 21: Director General, Election Commission of India Ashish Srivastava along with CEO visited Kurung Kumey district to study the progress of ongoing revision of electoral rolls in four assembly constituencies in the district. The DG, who arrived in state yesterday, also held meeting with the DC/DEO, all EROs, representatives of political parties, special observer and electoral roll observer appointed by the EC.

During his visit in state, he had also detailed discussion with CS and police authorities. A video conference was also held with all DCs and SPs by the Director General, according to an official release.

Students’ bodies oppose third party intervention in ANSU election

ITANAGAR, Jan 21: Apparently there is a rift between the Nyishi Elite Society (NES) and the primary members of All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) as the latter vociferously opposed NES decision to conduct upcoming ANSU conference cum election/selection.`

The primary members have decided to boycott the ANSU election process if the NES interferes in the matter. The decision came in a meeting held at here today under the chairmanship of Tadar Tarish attended by the representatives of district students union, branch students union and Rajiv Gandhi University Nyishi students union. The house unanimously opposed the intervention of parental organization in ANSU election and appealed to the present ANSU members to conduct election without paying attention to the third party intervention. It also stated that if the current executive members of ANSU failed to do so, it would resort to agitation against the present team.

Constituency level tournament for CM trophy held

KHONSA, Jan 21: The much awaited CM Trophy for Football and Volleyball (Men and Women) for constituency level has been held at District HQ, Khonsa with effect from January 15 to 18 amidst huge gathering. The tournament was flagged off by H Matcha, ADC,Hq.

Addressing the gathering H Matcha asked the participating teams to play the games in true sportsman spirit and to maintain discipline during the tournament. Earlier in his welcome address R Mihu, DSO (Sports),Khonsa briefed about the aims and objectives of holding the CM Trophy in the district.

The constituency level tournament for 55, 56 & 57 constituencies were held at District HQ, Khonsa and that of 54 constituency was held at SDO, HQ, Deomali. The winners of the constituency level tournament (for both men & women) shall take part in the district level tournament which shall be held at Deomali in the later part of January. DIPRO

Farmers training at Nampong

NAMPONG, Jan 21: Training on rodent control, palm oil cultivation and formation of Self Help Group under National Rural Livelihood Mission was conducted at Lungka village under Nampong circle, Changlang district on January 16.

Tikhak, ADO Nampong along with her team of staffs Kago Lailang AFA(Sr), Nani Chaniya (BTM), Rumi Jongsam (SMS) and Ahom Yanchang(SMS) highlighted on cultivation of Palm oil under RKVY Scheme by explaining them the economic benefits and also encouraging woman to form Self Help Group (SHG) to avail the benefit under National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). She demonstrated the control measures of Rodent, which is a severe menace, right from field to godown by providing the farmers Rodenticides and Trouble Gum. All together 25 farmers attended the Training program. After the Training program, the villagers of Lungka village have started forming SHG with the help of Panchayat leaders.

Training on food processing for farm women

ITANAGAR, Jan 21: A one-day training cum demonstration programme on Food Processing was held at Rayeng village by KVK Lower Dibang valley district under the sponsorship of Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) today.

Nanang Tamut (SMS Home Science), who was the resource person of the programme, briefed the farm women on the importance of fruits to maintain good health, production technology of fruits and effective utilization of farm produces through processing for livelihood. Practical session was also organized on preparation of value added products from various fruits such as squash, juice, jam etc.

Also as a part of the programme, demonstration was held on the cost effective method of recycling of farm waste through “Compost Pit”. All together 12 trainees comprising farm women and progressive farmers participated in the training programme.

Papum Pare retain Tang Memorial

ITANAGAR, Jan 21: Defending champion Papum Pare eked out a thrilling 5-4 win over spirited Capital Complex via penalty shootout to retain the 13th Tadar Tang Memorial State Level Football Tournament title at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Naharlagun today.

The match was decided with penalty shootout after both the teams failed to break the deadlock in regulation time.

Papum Pare converted all the five spot kicks while Capital Complex could four only. Tarh Nega, Techi Takar (I), Nabam Perri, Nyamar Loyi and General Modi took the spot kick for Papum Pare. For Capital Complex, Tamuk Taja, Tatung Tadu, Gakir Dolom and Teli Tangung converted their kicks while the fifth shot taken by Tapi Apa missed the target.

With today’s win, Papum Pare have won the title thrice while Capital Complex have won once .

Earlier, the match started on an aggressive note with both the teams creating equal amount of scoring opportunity; but were unable to score from most of the chances. However, it was the Papum Pare team, who had the last laugh.

Playing before a capacity crowd, both the teams displayed some fine football before the match was taken to tie-breaker.

The match could have gone either way had they not missed the chances. There were also some stunning saves by Capital Complex goalkeeper Tapi Apa. He made atleast three wonderful saves in 75th, 78th and 85th minutes. The Capital Complex team made up of young players gave Papum Pare a run for their money before going down fighting to the defending champion.

The winner was awarded cash prize of Rs. One lakh sponsored by local MLA Techi Kaso along with the coveted trophy. The runners up team received cash prize of Rs.50,000 thousand with along trophy.

Fair Play Award was given to Lower Subansiri team.

Tarh Anthony of Papum Pare was declared “Best Player” and Doging Yubey the “Best Goalkeeper”. Gyammar Kuku became highest scorer with six goals in his kitty. Papum Pare coach Tarh Juna was adjudged as the “Best Coach.” Prizes to the winner and runners up teams were given away by Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Ninong Ering, UD & Fisheries Minister Rajesh Tacho and local MLA Techi Kaso.

A total of 13 teams participated in the tournament which was organized by Arunachal Pradesh Football Association.

The first Tadar Tang Memorial Football tournament was organized and financed by Tang Foundation Multipurpose Society (TFMS) in 2001. Eight teams participated in it and CM’s XI was the winner.

High level meeting on reduction of IMR

CS calls for surprise visit in all health centres

ITANAGAR, Jan 21: A meeting of high level monitoring committee on reduction of Infant mortality rate (IMR) in Arunachal Pradesh was held today at Banquet Hall which was chaired by Chief Secretary H.K Paliwal and attended by Secretary (Finance) D. Hawalder, Secretary SWW& CD Salini Verma, Dr. M. Jini, DME, P.N. Thungon, MD (NRHM) and many others officials. The meeting was primarily dwelt in length on the draft action plan prepared for reduction of Infant Mortality in Arunachal Pradesh and how to utilize the resources for the same purpose.

While analysing the status of IMR and goal by 2015 in Arunachal Pradesh, the Chief Secretary raised queries on the increasing IMR and the steps taken to address the same. During the meeting several reasons, such as non-availability of key personnel like ANM in SCs, MOs / SNs in the PHCs, CHCs and lack of skilled manpower were identified.

The Chief Secretary further instructed DHS and MD (NRHM)) to initiate surprise visits to health facilities and said that if anybody found absent, he directed them to take immediate action on the spot in the form of show cause notice, suspension, departmental inquiries and termination on behalf of Chief Secretary.

Dwelling on the cause of neonatal mortality, the Chief Secretary instructed to issue an advisory to all DMOs of the districts to keep the hospitals clean and create conducive and enabling environment for 48 hours stay after delivery in all the health facilities.

Further he directed all the Deputy Commissioners to visit the health facilities and file an action taken report within 31st of January 2014 and thereon on monthly basis.

AAPSU demands inquiry, suspension of officer

ITANAGAR, Jan 21: Expressing strong resentment over, what it said, most irresponsible act of deputy home secretary G Rime for allegedly allowing his minor sons of around 12-15 years old to drive the official vehicle that rampaged through the busy traffic at Naharlagun on January 18 last reportedly leaving three injured, including two seriously and damaged several vehicles, All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union today demanded immediate suspension of the officer and departmental inquiry against him.

“It has become the order of the day for the family members of the officers to use the official vehicles for all private purposes. If one goes to Sunday market at Harmuti in Assam, the official vehicles seen everywhere is conclusive evidence. Moreover, official vehicles are seen in Capital Complex markets loaded with vegetables and construction materials which is nothing but misuse,” said AAPSU president Kamta Lapung in a release today.

When the state government is claiming to have been facing acute paucity of resources, how such wastage on POL could be allowed with the authorities turning a blind eye to such illegal activities, questioned Lapung while reminding the days of former chief secretary S K Agnihotri for his bold administration.

Agnihotri had to go but no one can deny the benefit accrued to state and work culture developed during his tenure, Lapung said and wondered why the present chief secretary is not able to bring discipline and check wastage of money and unruly behaviour of the government employees ?

Pointing out the law and order situation in the state, AAPSU said the law and order situation particularly in Capital Complex has gone from bad to worse but no one bothers. The law enforcing agency is plying the role of silent spectator while the government would quote statistics to claim comparative lowering of crime rate, it said.

A brief migratory story of Adis

It's believed the Adis lived in between Tyangse river and Huangho river and then they migrated along the Irrawadi and Salwin river and then settled at the valley of Zayul river and continued the migration and crossed the Dasing hill and thereafter they moved along the Namgong river and settled at PEMAKO valley which is in Tibet. The place is located in between Salwin and Mekong rivers. The Adis lived at Pemako about two century and from there they migrated and came down to present settlement area, the undivided Siang valley.

The only entrance to present settlement was the “KEPANG ADI” or KEPANG-LA or the KEPANG PASS located at a distance of about four kilometres away from Gelling outpost, the border town of Upper Siang District. After settling at present Tuting the Adis continued their migration and passed through only the single road, foot track called the “JANBO NYIGE” in local popular term, the present Janbo village through which they passed and migrated down to the present Adi belt. The hole like foot track is named as “BOGUM TARUNG GEPBUNG”. It is also known as PEDONG ANEKE TIRKONG BONGGO. The track is almost like a bunker, seemed uncommon, unique but natural. It seems to be a hole like drain having dept of more than six fit height. Traditionally it is believed that if anybody falls by slip at the time of passing through the hole like track, his or her soul goes out and is very difficult to call or bring back the lost soul and such people naturally die soon. It's a local version. A few metre ahead of the hole like track is a stone-having a length of more than five feet which is known as KANGGE LITA and is believed to be holy and have spiritual power, the local people informed. The local people advise the visitors not to fall down by any faults during crossing of the hole-like track.

The story tells that the Adis belonging to different areas, belts, locations including Mishings of Arunachal and Assam passed, migrated through this Pedong Ane ke Tirki Bonggo also called 'Bogum Tarung Gepbung' and popularly known as “JANBO NYIGE'.

The Deputy Commissioner L. Borang along with DIPRO visited this location and observed that it has historical and cultural tourist potentiality and attractions and informed that he would take up the matter with concern authority for its safe, protection and beautification of location and also would do as best as possible to make it a tourist beauty and attractive spot in Upper Siang of Arunachal Pradesh. Fulfill assurance or face bandh call, AAPCWA to Govt

ITANAGAR, Jan 21: All Arunachal Pradesh Contactor Welfare Association (AAPCWA) today urged the Govt to fulfill its written assurance by publishing the gazette notification on various issues including adoption of 1 per cent EMD for tribal contractors, stopping of deduction of 2 per cent as income tax from tribal contractors, and holding back direct participation of any company or manufacturer for any department in the state.

Expressing its dismay over the delay on the part of the concerned authority in issuing notification in this regard as per written assurance on November 11 last, AACWA president Takam Padu informed the mediapersons today that the Association had submitted a four-point memorandum to the Chief Minister, Nabam Tuki on January 20 last on various issues for the welfare of the Contractors as well as for the society.

“We have demanded immediate clearance of genuine pending bills of various contractors and allocation of atleast Rs 20 Crores during the 2013-14 financial years to meet up the partial payment of contractors especially for PWD and Power Department,” the AACWA president said adding that “after clearing all the genuine requisite documents for pending bills that too as per the norms of Department of Finance, the concerned department is avoiding to clear the bills of various part time and marginal contractors.”

“We also urged the concerned authority for splitting of tenders amongst the local contractors, early completion of ongoing mega projects in the state and abolition of commission system,” added Padu, while threatening to go ahead with 12-hour capital complex bandh on January 28 next if the state government fails to address their issues within a week.

Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary, AACWA, Nabam Akin Hina said that 80 per cent of total population of the state are working as contractors directly or indirectly for their livelihood but amazingly only countable top leaders and power holders are enjoying the financial benefits of the state. Financial packages in crores are being funded by central and state government for implementation of various projects/schemes under PMGSY,RIDF,NEC,NLCPR and others but only few are there who are running the show, where as the registered contractors of various grade from Class-I to Class V are being deprived of, he added while urging for splitting of big projects among the local contractors .

Akin also asserted that AACWA wants immediate completion of ongoing mega projects like State Hospital, Secretariat and State Legislative Assembly hall for the welfare of the citizen, which are running behind the scheduled time.

Aalo medical fraternity condemns assault on lady doctor, to register protest

AALO, Jan 21: The Medical Officers and staffs of Aalo District Hospital have expressed their deep resentment over the assault on a lady doctor Dr. Otam Taggu, MO, District Hospital, Aalo on emergency duty allegedly by one Tageng Padoh, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Seppa at District Hospital, Aalo on December 24 last.

In a hurriedly convened meeting the doctor and staffs of District Hospital, Aalo highly condemned the ‘irresponsible and immature behavior’ of a person holding very responsible post of a Chief Judicial Magistrate. The medical fraternity of the hospital also decided to put on black badge on January 22 as a mark of protest against the incident.

Justifying its decision to register protest, the medical fraternity said ‘the matter could have been sorted out amicably by the Medical Department had he not went further with a letter to the health authority for her termination from the service and registered an FIR in Police Station, Aalo ‘falsely implicating her of absence from her duty and also assault on him after assaulting her.’

Giving details of the incident, it was said that the incident occurred when Tageng Padoh seated in bench meant for patient party began to pick up argument with the doctor who came after a busy time in managing a case of hanging that was brought to the hospital casualty room. She failed to recognize and notice him as the Chief Judicial Magistrate as he was seated in the bench meant for patient party in the corridor. The problem started as he took highly of himself by virtue of his official position as the Chief Judicial Magistrate and expected a due VIP reception and treatment, said a release.

The members present in the meeting appealed the authority concerned to take note of the incident and punish the culprit as per law of the state.

Adi Baane Kebang conference concludes

ITANAGAR, Jan 21: The three days 22nd General Conference of Adi Bane Kebang held at Tuting, Upper Siang District concluded on January 18 last.

Speaking on the inaugural function, Union Minister of state for Minority Affairs Ninong Ering urged the Adi’s to maintain unity and promote and preserve traditional culture and customs. While terming the ABK as an asset of Adi’s, he urged the ABK to work more for welfare and development of Adi’s in all front.

Parliamentary Secretary, Tourism PD Sona said that, ‘Adis are role model for all tribes and there are lots to learn and follow.

He further said that Adis, being the first to be in the forefront of education and other developmental activities in the state are well socialized and I hope the ABK would work for the welfare of Adi’s living in Mechuka constituency

ABK President Kangir Jamoh assured to work for the welfare of Adi’s and expressed his gratitude to ABK executive members for the constant support and cooperation.

While, Secretary General Bodong Yirang highlighted various activities carried out by ABK during 2011-14. He informed that, ABK has successful in convincing the state government of writing common ‘Adi’ in the ST Certificate of all Adi sub-tribes, ABK also negotiated with Idu-Mishmi Cultural Literary Society and solved the Adi-Midi conflict at Roing. The decade long defunct Adi Agom Kebang was also revived with the initiation of ABK etc.

Altogether, 31 resolutions were adopted by ABK like formation of expert committee to assess the actual pros & cons of Hydro Projects in Adi belts comprising of technocrats, bureaucrats etc, naming of Pasighat-Pangin Road after Adi freedom fighter Late Matmur Jamoh, De-reservation move to Gutum Reserve Forest under Ruksin Division, Tuting-Anini Road via Damro, Continuance of present Adi Script being already supplied and taught in schools as Third Language, creation of another ABK Unit comprising Mechuka region named ‘Shi Yumi Banggo’ and re-naming of Adi Cultural Literary Society (ACLS) as Adi Art and Cultural Society (AACS) etc were the resolution adopted during the conference.

On the occasion, ABK felicitated 15 individuals in various fields like art, culture, literature, socio political, sports etc out of which 8 were awarded posthumously. The awardees are Late Okep Tayeng (literature and socio-cultural), Late Dukyon Lego (Literature), Late Ogan Borang (folklore), Late Jomin Tayeng (academic excellence & Social work), Late Dr. Odang Lego (academic excellence), Late Lummer Dai (literature), Late Talom Rukbo ( Socio-Cultural & Religion), Late Komeng Dai (art & painting), Bormoti Dai ( upliftment of Socio education) RN Koley ( Socio-Cultural & Adi Literature), Talem Melong (social works), Onnyong Tondrang ( Socio-Political & Adi Kebang), Aling Pinggam (Sports), Delong Padung ( Art & Culture) and ABK East Siang Unit Women Wing for their continuous effort to eradicate drugs, alcohol and other illicit substances.

Apart from these the first Adi Kébang Ayon (Adi Customary Law), ABK Souvenir ‘Gokying’ and CDs were also released during the conference.

Meanwhile in the ABK executive members selection process Kangir Jamoh and Bodong Yirang retained their post as President and Secretary General of ABK. While, Getom Borang and Tony Pertin was selected as Vice President Administration and Vice President Protocol respectively and Tabung Ering- retained as Secy HQ, Tanon Tatak-Secy. 3rd batch training for unemployed youths under Hunar Se Rojgar Tak scheme ends

ITANAGAR, Jan 21: As an initiative to create employable skills amongst the unemployed youth for those belonging to economical weaker strata of the society, Department of Tourism, GOAP has successfully completed the 3rd batch of training 300 youths under Hunar Se Rojgar Tak (HSRT), a scheme under Ministry of Tourism Govt. of India.

The training provided was relating to Hospitality trades namely - food production, food & beverages service, housekeeping, bakery and patisseries. Besides these due emphasis was given on improving their attitudes and behavior in order to enhance their market acceptability.

The course content has been designed by national council of Hotel Management & Catering Technology and were conducted by clustering 4/5 best hotels in the state capital.

After the completion of the training of three batches of youths, their services are being utilized by most of the hotels in the capital city. Furthermore, to enhance the skill in their respective trade tie up with reputed hotels has also been arranged for the trainees. Thus, the longstanding issue of shortage of skilled staff has been overcome and the standard of service in the hotels has improved drastically. Trainees of the HSRT scheme have been employed in reputed Hotels too.

Most of the youth who completed the training in the Food Production & Bakery stream have opted for self employment. Some of them are in the process of setting up their own small restaurants/coffee shops and some have taken on rent a few already running restaurants in the state and are running them successfully.

In short, the result of the implementation of the HSRT scheme in Arunachal Pradesh have now overcome the staff shortage issue and are concentrating in improving the service standard of their units. Many young unemployed youths are getting an opportunity to serve in the hospitality service.

While giving away the certificates in the valedictory programme Taru Talo exhorted the youths to understand the dignity of labour and respect their profession. He has also appealed the trainees that since they have undergone training under Tourism department, they should also spread the message of Athithi Devo Bhava to the general masses and maintain friendly attitude towards everyone. The Nodal officer HSR, Bengia Manna Sonam has assured the pass out trainees to give full assistance in job placement in the upcoming New Hotels provided they are willing to work dedicatedly.

Hoping for better days ahead

The majority of developmental projects of Arunachal have not been able to really take off in recent years. Most of them are lingering in various stages. Of all, the two most important projects which are getting delayed is Trans-Arunachal highway and green field airport project. These two projects are of national importance and any further delay will be cause of serious concern. Trans-Arunachal highway has made slow progress and project developer is way behind the schedule time. They have attributed reason to the breakdown of law and order.

On the other hand green field airport is caught in litigation battle. The project which was earlier supposed to come up at Karsingsa was later shifted to Hollongi. A group of citizen from Karsingsa filed a PIL at Guwahati high court challenging this decision and since then battle is being fought in court. It seems finally union government has taken notice of such delay. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday directed Planning Commission to set up a committee with representatives from northeastern states to monitor and improve coordination for infrastructure development in the region as he reviewed its status in a meeting with chief ministers of the NE states at Delhi. He reviewed status of the infrastructure in terms of air, rail and road connectivity. Hope this directive of PM will accelerate development projects in Arunachal.

On 21st Jan 1972 NEFA became union territory of Arunachal Pradesh covering area of 83,743 sq km. On 20th Feb 1987 our state earned full-fledged statehood & became 24th state of India.

But repeated illegal eviction drive carried out by Assam Govt. official in border districts of our state is cause of worry. The major affected areas are Tarasso in Papum Pare and Likhabali in West Siang district. In East Siang, the paddy field of Debing-Depi village were illegally occupied by people of Assam claiming it to be part of them.

Being a citizen of Arunachal, I don’t want to lose single inch of our land. The outsiders come into our land and creates problem. I request all Arunachlee including all the pressure groups to take this boundary matter seriously.

Dear Editor,

Through your esteemed daily, I would like to publish my grievances over the Government’s inaction against the culprit involved in the death of my mother late Bengia Yame. Adding insult to our sadness, there has been some unwelcoming comments by Nurses’ Association and Doctors’ Association in this regard.

Everyone is aware that on 18th January my mother died under mysterious circumstances at Arunachal State Hospital. Once again I appeal to the Arunachal Pradesh Doctors’ Association and Nurses’ Association not to intervene in the case as we are not blaming anyone without evidence and eye witnesses. More than 2 (Two) weeks have passed but so far no action has been taken against the accused.

From medical reports it is clear that before she was operated on her right knee on 6th January, 2014, my mother was not suffering from any disease or fractured ribs. She received knee injury accidently while she trying to fix a bulb in our kitchen. She was hale and hearty and recovering well from the knee operation till the morning of 8th January, 2014. My mother was not a critical patient. Therefore APDA’s release in which they stated that “Doctors do not guarantee life they only do their best to save life based on their scientific knowledge” is morally wrong.

And “Nurses’ Association” statement that “but when one in a million dies we are blamed for the death without any logical reasons” is against the sentiment of grieving family. From one in million I won’t be able to find my mother again and whom shall I blame now. And we have medical evidence and eye witnesses; she was hale and hearty until the injection was pushed into her by staff nurse on the advice of doctor. How come her ribs are broken in the postmortem report. If people don’t stop these unwelcoming comments, then I will take action against all the nurses and doctors of the State Hospital Naharlagun. So please don’t intervene in the case.

There is enough evidence from post mortem report. Also x-ray of chest (before operation i.e. 2nd January, 2014) ECG, blood test, liver function test and eye witnesses are enough to get accused doctor and staff nurse arrested and terminated from the services. A fresh FIR is lodged against the Doctor and the Nurse after the postmortem report under Section 302/304. But it is yet to be registered as case and the accused are still at large.

So, I appeal to the State Government and concerned authority to register a fresh case under Section 302/304 by adding to the registered Section 304 (A) of IPC within 7 (Seven) days i.e. one week time and get arrested the Doctor and the Nurse. Otherwise, we shall not be held responsible if situation goes out of hand.

Never ending wait

Dear Editor,

Why state government has not released the salary of SSA teachers for the last 4 months? Due to the failure of state govt to disburse the salary of hard working teachers, majority of them are starving. During the tenure of late CM Dorjee Khandu SSA teacher’s salary was released in right time and there was no problem of state or central matching share. The education department must clarify the reason behind non disbursement of salary. They should let us know in advance in which particular month salary will not be disbursed, so that teachers are mentally prepared to tackle the period. Lastly I request the state government to please release the salary of SSA teachers as earliest as possible.
